Colocation questions
What should we measure before asking for a quote?
Rack units for each device, measured wall power (or a careful estimate from component limits and PSU efficiency), the number and speed of network ports you need, and whether you want any managed services. The calculator can help estimate power.
Do we need to be in Perth to use the facility?
No. Colocation is normally managed remotely. You only need to be on site if you want to install hardware yourself or visit; remote hands is available at $75*–$110* per hour for physical tasks. If your users are in Perth, you also get sub-10 ms Perth-metro latency vs ~45 ms to Sydney.
What's the difference between colocation and managed colocation?
With colocation you manage your own hardware, operating system and applications. Managed colocation (from $200* per month) adds Green Racks management on top. The exact scope is set out in your written quote.
Can we start small and grow?
Tiers run from a single rack unit ($114.99* per month) to a full rack ($1,724.99* per month). Capacity is limited to 10 racks, so talk to us early if you expect to grow.
How does our hardware get to the facility?
You can bring it in yourself, or arrange freight to the facility. Receiving, installation and cabling arrangements are confirmed in your written quote before anything ships.
